West Prepared for 18/19 Season Ahead.

Gregory Equine sponsored rider Sarah West is gearing up for the up-coming Show Jumping 18/19 season ahead.

Sarah (16) sold her top Show Jumping pony Miss Mae West at the end of last season and plans to focus her time this season in the hack ring on the recently imported Oaks Centurion.

Over the Winter Sarah and her mother Leanne, travelled to Australia to try a handful of potential new team members and came home with Oaks Centurion – Chewy as he is known as at home.  He is a 9 year old Grey gelding by the Holstiner stallion Centus. Sarah’s main aim is to get him jumping consistently for her in the Young Rider classes which are around 1.30cm -1.45cm.

Another relatively new member to the West Show Jumping team is Luxuriant. He is a 6 year old Thoroughbred by Exceed & Excel that was sent back to New Zealand in 2017 after an unsuccessful race career in Hong Kong. West is hopeful that he will be consistent this season in the 1.20cm classes.

With the unfortunate early retirement of Erl Grey 2, Sarah is on the look out for another future star to join her stable and carry her further into her promising Show Jumping career.

Best of luck to Sarah and her team of quality horses this season. We really enjoy following Sarah’s progress and learning of her fantastic achievements.

The team here at Gregory Equine are very proud of Sarah’s last season achievements which included:

1st Taranaki Pony Grand Prix – Miss Mae West

2nd Taihape Pony Grand Prix – Miss Mae West

14th Overall Country TV Pony Grand Prix Series – Miss Mae West

1st 4 year old Championship – Mangatu Chrome
