Sponsored rider Sarah West sitting pretty heading towards Horse of The Year 2018

Gregory Equine’s very own Sarah West has had an amazing season so far.

With a team of 6 smart horses in her stable, she has achieved some great results this season and is looking forward to Horse of The Year and the Show Jumping Finals in Masterton.

Sarah’s Grand Prix pony doesn’t give her an easy ride but she has managed to nurse Miss Mae West around, and accomplish some very pleasing results in the Pony Grand Prix:

  • 5th Rotorua Show Jumping Champs
  • 3rd Te Teko Show Jumping Champs
  • 3rd Woodhill Sands
  • 4th Hawera A&P Show
  • 5th Wellington Show Jumping Champs
  • 2nd Woodhill Sands
  • 4th Waitemata Premier Champs
  • 3rd Wairoa Show Jumping
  • 1st Taranaki Champs
  • 6th Woodhill Sands
  • 2nd Taihape Show Jumping Champs

All the Pony Grand Prix classes are hotly contested, and the jumps are up to 1.35! Sarah is sitting 14th in the series.

Sarah’s other pony on the team, Showtyme Cruiser started the season in the Pony Speed classes and also the Mini Grand Prix.

  • 1st Woodhill Sand Mini Prix
  • 6th Pony Grand Prix Woodhill Sands
  • 2nd 1.15 Equidays Pony Speed
  • 1st Mini Grand Prix North Island Show Jumping Champs
  • 3rd Pony Speed North Island Show Jumping Champs

Since these great results he has been retired from the Show Jumping Circuit and Sarah has handed the reins to her mother on the hunt field.

Sarah’s current Junior rider mount, Erl Grey is lying 17th in the Junior Rider Series and has had some very nice results jumping up to 1.30:

  • 2nd Hawkes Bay A&P
  • 1st Woodhill Sands
  • 1st Wellington Show Jumping Champs
  • 6th Young Horse Show Hastings
  • 5th Woodhill Sands
  • 3rd Wairoa Show Jumping
  • 6th Taranaki Champs
  • 5th Taihape Show Jumping Champs

These are awesome results for 15 year old Sarah competing her first season on Horses.

Sarah’s three babies in the team, Thomas King, Luxuriant and Mangatu Chrome have started well and are moving up the grades nicely. Their focus is just to go and jump a nice clear round.

Mangatu Chrome is only four and has had 3 outings with an impressive 3rd equal in his age group class at the Young Horse Show in Hastings.

With 3 shows left in the season, Sarah is pumped for what they will bring and hoping some more great results are on the cards.
