What about this weather?!?! Hot huh!

Wowsa, What about this weather?!?! Hot huh!

I was at Tokoroa’s A&P Show on the weekend, it sure was hot and bothersome!

I excelled myself in the Led Hack horse to be sashed ‘Champion Led Hack” – This is not my favourite part of my showing career, but Felicity insists I do it as I have been rather successful in these classes over the years.

The sun was blazing down on us, just in time for the ridden classes.

Nana Jo lead me around for a bit while Felicity got into her riding clothes. She sure took her time to change and from the commotion in the truck she was having a bit of difficulty getting into her attire in the heat. When she finally ventured out her face was as red and a shiny new apple and was huffing and puffing about the heat.

We won the “Best Presented Hack” which Nana Jo was pleased about as she also takes such pride in plaiting my mane and keeping me in tip top condition during the day in very tiring conditions.

From that we went on to win our Hack class and be sashed “Champion Ridden Hack” – I love it when I get Champion! Everyone claps and cheers and I even had a cheeky little buck just to show everyone how happy I was in our lap of honour.

This weekend I am off to our last Show of 2017 – Te Kauwhata! I haven’t been to this show before so it will be new and exciting for me!

Felicity and I have a few riding lesson’s this week with a man called ‘Skinny”. I have known him ever since I moved to Felicity and Nana Jo’s place and he has helped Felicity school me for the show ring. It is hard work when Skinny comes around, making me do fancy moves and teaching me new things  especially in this heat! I do like it when the lesson is finally finished as Felicity always has my favourite Big Red treats on hand as well as a nice cool bath.

Anyway…… Must dash…. Need to rest up
